The costume for Yasuko Nakayama, who plays the erhu at the Asakura Residence ruins on 22 and 23 August, has arrived.
It is a kimono and haori made of Echizen washi paper. One is navy, scattered with red plum blossoms and golden cranes in flight. The other is a moss-green haori bearing the Asakura family crest. The paper falls with a softness you would not expect, and it should look different again under the candlelight.

The erhu is played at 18:50 and 19:50 on 22 August, and 18:00 and 19:00 on 23 August, all at the Asakura Residence ruins, together with Hanako Shinkai. The performance begins once the light has faded and only the candles remain. Please come close and listen.
