A request for those driving to Echizen Asakura Mantouya 2026 from the direction of Sabae.
Fukui Prefectural Route 238 (the Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins – Higashiomi line), which runs along the west side of the venue, is narrow and it is hard for two cars to pass. Map apps sometimes send you along it, but on the festival days the traffic builds up, so please avoid this road.
It is a longer way round, but please come in from the Asakura Mizu-no-Eki side (the north of the valley), via National Route 8 and then National Route 158. The Ichijodani Asakura Clan Ruins Museum has the largest car park with 140 spaces, and the stop in front of the museum is also a shuttle bus stop.
The green line is the route that avoids the expressway: from Sabae Interchange north along National Route 8, east along National Route 158, past Asakura Mizu-no-Eki to the Asakura Clan Ruins Museum — about 22 km, roughly 30 minutes. The red dashed line is Prefectural Route 238, the road we ask you to avoid. Map and route data from OpenStreetMap.
The area around the venue becomes very congested. Please use the shuttle bus, the train or a local bus wherever you can.
